Duetto: Hoedown & Tavern Dance from “Luke & Sarah” for Violin & Guitar
This duet is a transcription of two excerpts from Domine’s opera Luke & Sarah. The Hoedown is a lively square dance that lends itself to performance by violin and guitar, sometimes a banjo has been substituted for the guitar part. The Tavern Dance is based on Irish folk dances and should be played with the whisky-infused sense of abandon that befits such spirited music.
